April 10, 2013
Dear
Parents,
On Wednesday, April 17, 2013 all Juniors across the state of Idaho will be participating in the Idaho SAT School Day. This opportunity for all Juniors to take the SAT free of charge came as a result of a 2007 Idaho state law instituting new graduation requirements to ensure more students graduated from high school prepared to go on to postsecondary education or the workforce. In order to create the optimal testing situation to ensure student success on this important test, school will not be in session on this day for all students, with the exception of the Juniors who will be taking the SAT on that day. All Juniors need to be in attendance at the high school promptly at
8:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 17.
Students will be organized into small testing groups with the high school teachers serving as proctors. Students arriving late will be placed in a “late student” testing room. The actual administration of the test will take approximately 5 hours. It is important that students get a good nights rest, eat a good nutritious breakfast, arrive relaxed and prepared to put forth their best effort on the SAT. We as a school appreciate your support in helping your student to prepare for this important event that will assist your student in enhancing their postsecondary college and career readiness.
Sincerely,
Dean
