allowed to participate in the graduation exercises, but could receive their diploma when all
             requirements are met as verified by the counselor and approved by the principal.


             Note: All documentation concerning courses taken by correspondence, in night school, at a college or
             university, in summer school, or in a community education class, must be received in writing from the
             accredited agency by the Snake River High School Counseling office in a timely fashion.




                                       AWARDS AND HONORS


             Honors Award
             This award is for students who graduate with a grade point average of 3.5 or better and meet the
             Idaho State Graduation Requirements and the Snake River School District #52 graduation
             requirements.
             High Honors Award
             This award is for students who graduate with a grade point average of 3.75 or better. Grades will be
             calculated to two places without rounding (i.e., 3.74567 = 3.74). Students will need to meet the Idaho
             State Graduation Requirements and the Snake River School District #52 requirements plus successfully
             complete the following courses:
                •   11 Credits of Math including the successful completion of Pre- Calculus A, B, and C

                •   9 Credits of Science
                •   2 Credits of Foreign Language
                •   9 Credits of English including 3 Trimesters of AP English or Dual Credit English

             Included in the above credits or in addition to, students must complete 9 credits of Honors and/or
             Advanced Placement and/or dual enrollment courses.
             Salutatorian Award
             This award is given to the student that ranks second in the graduation class and meets the High
             Honors qualifications (grade point averages are figured through the second trimester of the senior
             year). If there are Co- Valedictorians this award will be given to the next ranking student. Speaking at
             graduation is dependent upon the number of Valedictorian awards in the graduating class. If there is
             more than one Valedictorian the Salutatorian will not speak.
             Valedictorian Award
             This award is given to the students that rank first in the graduating class and meets the High Honors
             qualifications (grade point averages are figured through the second trimester of the senior year). In
             case of a tie more than one award will be given. If there is a tie, Valedictorian speakers at graduation
             will be determined by the highest ACT and/or SAT score. The number of Valedictorian speakers will
             not exceed four.
             Note: Foreign Exchange Students are not eligible to receive the High Honors, Salutatorian, and
             Valedictorian Awards.
